Chambers UK rankings success for B P Collins

Lawyers at Gerrards Cross law firm B P Collins have received a string of plaudits in the 2010 edition of legal "bible" Chambers UK.



There was praise for all the teams across the multi-disciplinary practice, but the work of five individuals was singled out for special mention in the guide, which ranks solicitors and barristers in over 60 specialist areas of law across the UK.

Within the Thames Valley sector, there was personal success for Nick Hallchurch, Tim Constable, Jo Davis, Craig Williams and Petrova Caldecourt, while the firm’s Family, and Corporate and commercial teams achieved new rankings.

The firm’s Litigation and dispute resolution team did especially well.

Partner and practice group leader Tim Constable increased his individual ranking to number one and he was strongly recommended for "getting to the core of any matter quickly and decisively".

Fellow team partner Nick Hallchurch was named as a leading individual in Real Estate litigation as well as Litigation and Dispute Resolution and his expertise and hard work in the mediation field was underlined when he achieved a new ranking as an individual mediator in the UK. Clients said they appreciated his "cool and unassuming confidence, which naturally puts people at ease".

In 2009, partner and head of the Employment team, Jo Davis was listed as "one to watch" and she proved the predictions were right when she was named as a leading individual and a "safe pair of hands" in this year's publication.

Hot on her heels however as this year's "ones to watch” are Williams and Caldecourt, who take their places in the Dispute Resolution and Family teams. Williams was praised for being "competent and committed" while Caldecourt was described as "a rising star who inspires confidence in her clients".

For the first time, the family law team went straight in at Band 3, with Sue Andrews, partner and practice group leader, praised for her "reassuring bedside manner", while the Corporate and Commercial team headed by Simon Deans received a Band 4 ranking, with praise for recognising "the commercial angles in a deal".

To round off a very good performance across the firm both the Private Client and Property teams continued to achieve high rankings with Jane Northway, joint head of the Private Client team, and Michael Larcombe, joint head of the Property team, being singled out.

B P Collins’ senior partner David Stanning, said: "It was extremely gratifying for five of our team to be personally recognised by Chambers and we also received some outstanding feedback from our clients.
