Thames Valley law firm B P Collins is celebrating after being named the UK’s Small Law Firm of the Year, in the ACQ Finance Magazine Country Awards for Achievement.

The award caps a highly successful 18 months, during which time the firm has handled corporate M & A transactions of over £400+ million and achieved a series of successful court wins which have helped to underline its reputation as a major player.

The magazine’s awards programme sets out to acknowledge those organisations which have performed to “exceptional levels” during the recent global recession and makes specific country awards across 35 international regions.

Simon Deans, B P Collins’ corporate and commercial team leader, said: “We are extremely pleased that our dedication and hard work has been recognised through this award. While we may be considered ‘small’ within the context of some of the biggest law firms in the country we are, as our record suggests, capable of handling the very significant transactions and are one of the largest and most respected law firms in the Thames Valley and we are more than a match for our City counterparts."

He was supported by senior partner, David Stanning, who added: “It was our clients who nominated us for this award and we are very pleased that they have done so. Despite the economic situation we have continued to develop our capability and depth of expertise across the firm, and build long term relationships with our clients, and this award is testimony to the strength of that strategy.”

The awards were voted for through an independent poll, with the magazine’s editors selecting those firms for the top awards which they felt had achieved exceptional performance and deserved special recognition.
