Acquisition: Greenstar Group report

TRANSACTION REPORT

B P Collins' corporate team acted for the Greenstar Group on their acquisition of a commercial recycling business based in Coalville, near Leicester, Leicester Paper Processors Limited.

Leicester Paper Processors Limited handles around 45,000 tonnes of recyclables annually, collecting paper, card, plastics, glass and metal containers from commercial customers. Leicester Paper Processors also collects confidential paper based data and operates a secure data destruction service. Following the recent acquisition of Firbank Chiltern and the commencement of operations at Greenstar's flagship MRF at Aldridge, West Midlands, this deal is consistent with Greenstar's intent to develop a series of MRF's to offer integrated collection and processing services nationwide.

Chief Executive Officer for Greenstar, Ian Wakelin, said: "LPP gives us the opportunity to further develop our combined waste and recycling service which is used by hundreds of commercial and industrial customers across the UK. It is popular because it helps companies to reduce waste and therefore cost, whilst meeting their environmental obligations by recycling more."
