InFocus Employment Law morning seminar 5
Wednesday 8 July | 8.00am - 9.30am
Location: B P Collins, Collins House, 32-38 Station Road, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, SL9 8EL
During a downturn in business employers are often forced to review their employees contracts of employment. Some might consider amending their pension and healthcare arrangements, others implement a pay freeze as a means of cost-cutting measures but in the light of the new economic reality, is there a unilateral entitlement of employers to vary such terms and conditions and, if so, to what extent?
This is a complex area and one which often causes problems in balancing the needs of a business and the rights of its employees. During this complimentary morning seminar James Townsend, senior associate solicitor in our employment law practice, will be looking at the legal obligations imposed on employers when implementing terms and conditions of employment at the outset of an employment relationship. James will also highlight difficulties which often arise when an employer wishes to vary existing terms.
In addition, senior associate Kathryn Fielder will provide a brief summary of recent legislative changes together with important case law updates over the last 6 months. As usual, delegates will have ample opportunity to ask our employment law experts any questions, as well as interact with other managers throughout the morning.
