Acquisition: Greenstar Group report

TRANSACTION REPORT

B P Collins' corporate and commercial team acted for the Greenstar Group on their acquisition of a Bedfordshire based commercial waste and recycling business, Dunstable Waste Group Ltd, trading as Firbank Chiltern.

Based in Houghton Regis near Dunstable, Firbank Chiltern handles around 50,000 tonnes of waste and recyclable materials annually, collecting general waste, glass and mixed recyclables from commercial and industrial customers. Firbank Chiltern also operates a 5,000 tonne per annum aluminium can recycling facility and has a 175,000 licensed waste transfer station and materials recycling facility (MRF) producing in the region of 15,000 tonnes of recyclates each year.

Chief Executive Officer for Greenstar, Ian Wakelin, said: "We've put in place yet another element of our strategic vision. Greenstar is well on its way to building a national network of fully integrated collection and processing services that will enable British companies and Briton's to waste less and to recycle more".
