Acquisition: The Greenstar Group report

TRANSACTION REPORT

B P Collins' corporate team acted for the Greenstar group on their recently announced acquisitions of one of the largest independent municipal services providers to UK local authorities, Verdant Group plc, and the largest independent waste operator in the Leeds and Bradford area, M&B Haulage and Waste Paper Company Limited.

Verdant provide refuse collection, recycling collection, street cleaning and other associated services to 19 local authorities, mainly based in the South East. M&B Haulage predominately recovers and recycles pre and post consumer paper and cardboard products, whilst operating a waste collection and recycling service to the industrial and commercial sector. These deals follow the recent acquisition of Network Waste Solutions Ltd and supports Greenstar's aim to develop a recycling infrastructure throughout the UK.

Chief Executive Officer for Greenstar, Ian Wakelin said: "We are committed to leading the way in providing recycling led waste management solutions and to minimise our reliance on landfill by recycling as much of this waste as possible, on a cost efficient basis for our customers."
