Internet entrepreneur given £7 million divorce payout order

An entrepreneur who made his fortune through a health information website has been ordered to give £7 million to his ex-wife. Robert Jennings, the founder of Mediconsult.com, applied to the Appeal Court to reduce the divorce payout, which accounts to half of his wealth, the Daily Mail reports.
The award was made in March after High Court judge Mr Justice Charles criticised Mr Jennings' persistent failure to disclose the full extent of his savings, eventually ordering him to pay the £7 million by 1 September. Mr Jennings has now been refused permission to appeal, despite his contention that the falling value of his Gloucestershire mansion and the effect on the recession has impacted his assets.
His mansion, Saddlewood Manor in Leigherton, is being marketed by his ex-wife Sarah Jennings, who will be allowed to keep the proceeds of the sale as a down payment on what she is owed.
