Do you need to deal with a relative's affairs for a short time while they are perhaps abroad or in hospital?

A general power of attorney can be drawn up to help you access bank accounts and pay bills until a time comes when you no longer need to be involved.

A general power of attorney can only be used if the person making the power (the donor) has mental capacity.
