Mobile Mini acquires rival Scottish container business

B P Collins LLP advised long-standing client Mobile Mini, Inc. as it completed the purchase of the assets and operations of a container hire business from Fraser Ltd., based near Glasgow, Scotland.

The container hire business manages a fleet of around 500 containers for storage and temporary accommodation purposes. The acquisition of this container hire business complements Mobile Mini's strategy to add high returning assets in attractive geographies. An increased presence in Scotland diversifies their customer base in market sectors such as retail and education.

Chris Morgan, UK Managing Director, commented: “We were pleased to work with B P Collins on this acquisition, which is a key element of our growth strategy in the UK. Frasers’ high quality, highly utilised, containers fit well with our own container fleet, and will help us to further strengthen our container hire business.”

Following the deal, the Fraser family will continue to run its core haulage and container repair business and Mobile Mini UK will not assume the Fraser name.

The Fraser deal is the first acquisition for Mobile Mini in the UK since the transformational acquisition of Ravenstock MSG in 2008, which provided greater reach across the UK. B P Collins LLP also acted on this purchase.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
