Festival aims to get businesses innovating
Small businesses are being offered the chance to boost their prospects by taking part in the International Festival for Business 2016.
The festival is to feature a series of free 'meet the expert' sessions which are being organised by Innovate UK.
They will focus on a range of topics, including the current and future funding opportunities available to small and medium-sized businesses. Another will look at innovative ways to drive growth in manufacturing.
Experts from the agency, which reports to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, will also be available for face-to-face meetings.
Its chief executive, Ruth McKernan, and manufacturing and materials director, Simon Edmonds, meanwhile, will be among the festival's key speakers. Others are set to include BP's chief scientist Dr Angela Strank.
The first International Festival for Business, which was staged two years ago, helped stimulate more than £280 million worth of trade and investment deals.
This year's event is being staged in Liverpool and runs between June 13 and July 1.
