High levels of investment from foreign-owned companies has created over 1700 new jobs in the Thames Valley.
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects entering the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (TVB LEP) area have resulted in 1,714 new jobs. This is a 68% increase over the last 12 months.
Some 67 FDI projects were received by the LEP, an increase of 52% compared with the previous year.
The area is now one of the most successful LEPs outside of London for foreign investment.
The highest level of investment comes from the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
There is strong representation and growth across all sectors including Financial and Professional Business Services, Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing and Life Sciences & Healthcare, although technology (ITEC) based firms continued to dominate.
Paul Britton, Chief Executive at Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, said: "These figures, we believe, place Thames Valley Berkshire LEP at the very top table as one of the most successful LEP areas, outside of London, in securing FDI into the UK."
