Sporting Bucks alumni reaching for the stars

Two SportsAid alumni are benefitting from recent grants, as their careers continue to move in the right direction.

Rufus Biggs (rower) and Pippa Woolven (athletics) both have reason to be proud, having previously been selected by SportsAid to receive a cash injection through the Bucks Sporting Lunch Club network group.

Rufus won his quad race at Henley Royal Regatta this year and he won the Fawley Challenge Cup after four days of racing other crews in his boat. He also went to the GB Rowing Junior Trials and was selected for the European Junior Squad (the event is called the Coupe de la Jeunesse) travelling to France on the 31 July.

Rufus used his award to purchase a set of oars for his single boat.

Pippa will take part in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

B P Collins are co-sponsors of the Bucks Sporting Lunch Club and are proud of the association with elite Bucks athletes. For more information about the club, alumni and future events, please visit the website.
