Dominic Ibbs is a principal lawyer in our wills, trust and probate team.

Specialism

Dominic’s regular exposure to work involving trusts has allowed him to develop the expertise to advise both trustees and beneficiaries on their legal position, obligations and rights.  Where necessary, Dominic works closely with other teams at B P Collins including our family and dispute resolution practice groups, providing clear advice where issues to relating to trusts arise.

Dominic also practises as a Notary Public having completed the Notarial Practice Course at University College London and been admitted as a Notary by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury in August 2022. As a Notary Public Dominic is qualified to assist in the authentication and certification of documents and signatures for use in other jurisdictions.

Experience

Dominic also deals with all aspects of private client law including wills, probate and estate administrationpowers of attorney and applications to the Court of Protection.

Dominic provides a high level of client service and is able to deal with complex issues in a timely and effective way.  He is experienced in dealing with high value trusts and estates and regularly advises trustees and beneficiaries in relation to their obligations and rights.

Other information

As the secretary of B P Collins Trust Corporation Limited, Dominic is involved in the creation and administration of trusts, of which the Trust Corporation is the professional trustee. Dominic is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has been highly ranked in independent legal directories such as Chambers HNW 2023 and the Legal 500.

Outside of the office

Dominic enjoys spending time with his family and reading history.
