Main Areas of Work
Trainee profile
Most of the partners and other fee earners have worked in London at one time or another. Gerrards Cross is not only a very pleasant town with a large number of high net worth private clients but it is also a convenient location for serving the extremely active and demanding business community at the eastern end of the Thames Valley including West London, Heathrow, Uxbridge, Slough and Windsor. The firm therefore looks for trainees who are likely to respond to this challenging environment.
Training environment
The firm aims to have six/seven trainee solicitors at different stages of their training contracts at all times.
Trainees serve five months in four separate practice groups of their choice. The final four months is spent in the practice group handling the sort of work in which the trainee intends specialising. The firm has a training partner with overall responsibility for all trainees and each practice group has its own training principal who is responsible for day to day supervision.
There are regular meetings between the training principal and the trainee to monitor progress and a review meeting with the training partner at the end of each departmental session. The firm also involves their trainees in social and marketing events including golf and cricket matches, and other sporting and non-sporting activities.
