Highest accolades for private client team
11 January 2008![]()
The Private client practice group has received the highest accolade (band 1) from Chambers UK Guide, a client's guide to the Legal Profession 2008. The team has once again proved its expertise within the Thames Valley region and is one of only four firms to feature in this elite group.
Recognised as a "long-standing name" in the private client market, our team of seven lawyers advise on estate planning, administration and trusts. We also provide specialised advice for the elderly, an area that has grown significantly due to the 2007 enactment of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The guide mentions our handling of contentious probate, international tax work and successfully engaging HM Revenue & Customs regarding favourable tax treatment of trusts. Private client Partner, David Wilkinson is specifically commended as a leader in his field, by the guide.
The Legal 500 (the clients' guide to the UK Legal Profession 2007) gave similar praise by awarding its highest band to the practice for personal tax, trusts and probate. Only two other firms in the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex counties received the same prestigious award.
The firm has a "highly recommended private client practice under Jeremy Mills, who specialises in life and estate planning with particular emphasis on trusts."
Practice group leader, Jeremy Mills comments: 'We are delighted to be recognised in these independent directories which are further endorsements of the dedication within our team and the quality of service we provide. Acknowledgement in Chambers and the Legal 500 confirms our position as regional heavyweights within the Thames Valley."
