• Chris Brazier is promoted to partner in the employment practice
  • Lawyers in the wills, trusts and probate team and property team also receive promotions

B P Collins has announced that, as of 1 May 2019, Chris Brazier will be promoted to a partner in the employment team where he also leads its business immigration practice. With his extensive experience, Chris is a regular commentator on employment issues in the media and a key advisor in B P Collins’ Brexit team on immigration. He is rated as a “next generation lawyer” by independent legal directory Legal 500, for his “wide-ranging knowledge of the points-based system and sponsor licensing, among other business immigration matters”. Chambers UK legal directory also singles Chris out for being an “organised and sharp” employment lawyer.

Dominic Ibbs, a specialist in the creation and administration of trusts, and Tom Bird, who is experienced in estate planning for high net worth individuals, have been promoted to senior associate and associate respectively within the wills, trusts and probate team, which was rated ‘top tier’ by Legal 500 in 2019.

Emily Halley has also been promoted to an associate in the property team. The promotion comes after a strong year for Emily when she was shortlisted by Today’s Conveyancer as the South East’s Young Conveyancer of the Year. She has been recognised for her handling of complex deals and transactions and receiving hugely positive feedback from clients.

Steve Perry has also been promoted to business development manager, focusing on the strategic growth of the firm and building new relationships.

Simon Deans, senior partner, said: “Since Chris joined the firm in 2012, he has become well respected for his advice on HR and employment issues, particularly in the manufacturing and pharma sectors. His immigration advice has also been valued by businesses and individuals in run up to Brexit. Chris has helped them to navigate Home Office rules allowing employees and families to remain in the UK. He thoroughly deserves this partner promotion.

“Congratulations to Dominic, Tom and Emily. Clients frequently comment on their legal expertise and extensive knowledge which they use to devise practical solutions for every matter they advise on. They are real assets to the firm.”

B P Collins has also retained two of their trainees upon qualification. Amy Cooper has qualified into the employment team led by partner Jo Davis and Hedley Tipton has joined the property practice, led by partner Alison Taylor.

The news comes following the announcement that the firm is opening its first London office, following strong demand from clients.
