The trainee programme is of strategic importance in sourcing and developing our future leaders and a number of our current partners and senior associates trained with the firm. The Training Partner, in conjunction with the HR Manager, is responsible for recruiting trainees and managing the programme.

We have a small intake of 3/4 trainees per year which ensures the availability of plenty of challenging and interesting work and maximises retention rates upon qualification. In terms of the scope and complexity of work on offer, there is limitless opportunity as we are keen to test ability, aptitude and commitment from day one.

Trainee Selection Procedure
B P Collins places significant importance on selecting the right trainees.
We look for bright, well-rounded individuals who possess excellent academics and a genuine desire to train and work within the firm. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome all applications.
Each year we are represented at the College of Law fair and a number of university law fairs and we have entries in the Chambers Student Guide, the Training Contract Handbook and the Lex 100 Student Guide.
Screening interviews and verbal reasoning/grammar tests are conducted by the HR team during June - August followed by an assessment day in the Autumn. The assessment day involves presentations, group exercises, case studies, psychometrics and interviews. You will also have the opportunity to meet existing trainees and tour our offices.
Method of Application
Candidates are required to submit a full CV together with a handwritten covering letter to the HR Manager between 1 March and 31 May each year.

Applications for 2019 contracts will be accepted from 1 March to 31 May 2018. Applications are encouraged early in the process to maximise the opportunity of being invited to interview.
