B P Collins’ £10,000 charity fund is opening for applications

Do you work for a Buckinghamshire-based charity or community group that is working to improve lives in their community?

Local law firm B P Collins’ charity fund is opening on 10 January 2022, via the firm’s stewardship with Heart of Bucks. The fund supports local charities and projects that are aimed at delivering positive social impact and improving lives.

The awards are centred on meeting three objectives, which fit in with the firm’s CSR values: building stronger communities, providing better futures and helping create safer lives. As long as the not-for-profit organisation fits one of these themes, there are no restrictions on what the funding can be used towards; it may be for general costs, purchasing equipment or to support a community project. The awards will range from £500 to £3,500 and the fund is open until 31 January 2022.

Lucy Wood, B P Collins’ partner and Heart of Bucks trustee says:

“We’re proud that this is our 7th year of distributing grants to the local community. Times are tough and now, more than ever, these amazing charities and organisations need to be supported. We look forward to meeting them over the coming weeks to see how our funding can make a difference across the county.”

Last year, local charity One Eighty received a grant of £3,000 from the B P Collins fund. Rebekah Sammut, Development Manager at the charity says:

“The funding enabled us to continue our work with young people with complex needs, including supporting their mental health and helping them re-engage with education. We would really like to thank everyone at B P Collins for supporting One-Eighty – the funding has enabled us to reach more young people in Buckinghamshire and has made a huge difference to their lives.”

The B P Collins fund is open for applications throughout January, before a shortlist will be decided. Those shortlisted will be guaranteed to receive a financial award. They will be invited to a charity lunch and to give a short presentation virtually or in person to staff at B P Collins in Gerrards Cross, who will then vote for the charities in order of preference.

Previous recipients of B P Collins’ donations, totalling £62,000, have included environmental, refugee, domestic abuse, youth and employment charities across Buckinghamshire.
