B P Collins’ clients offer exceptional praise for its lawyers in Chambers UK 2022

Chambers UK, one of the UK’s leading legal directories, has announced its results for 2022. B P Collins LLP is delighted to learn that it has retained strong rankings for both its practices and individual lawyers. And for the first time, all of B P Collins’ practices eligible for recognition, are in the top two rankings.

Real Estate increase rankings

Independent research comprising external feedback, has resulted in B P Collins’ real estate team rising in the rankings. According to testimonials the team is "knowledgeable, personable and well connected… gives proactive advice and takes a pragmatic view." Commenting on the depth of the team, one respondent said: "Any team member we have worked with has upheld the professional and efficient work standards we expect from B P Collins' partners and solicitors."

Band 1 practice rankings

Crime; corporate and commercialenvironment and family teams have all received Band 1 rankings again. While employment and dispute resolution practices have both retained their high rankings.

Individuals recognised

B P Collins’ employment and business immigration lawyers have been recognised. Partner Chris Brazier has been promoted from ‘Associate to Watch’ to ‘Up and Coming,’ after Chambers UK found that he is, “adept at handling employment tribunal claims for both employers and employees, with experience assisting clients on unfair dismissal claims and cases concerning disability, sex and age discrimination. He also assists clients with redundancy exercises and IR35 issues.” One client appreciated,"… that he explains things to us in layman's terms in a way that we can understand. He is very knowledgeable about legislation and doesn't overcomplicate matters. He also understands our business and knows how we work."

Senior associate in employment and business immigration, Kathryn Fielder has become an ‘Associate to Watch,’ after Chambers recognised her considerable experience representing employees in claims of unfair dismissal and discrimination and noted that she also regularly assists employer clients with redundancy programmes. One testimonial read: "Kathryn Fielder is a refreshingly direct and pragmatic lawyer whose availability is excellent."

After an extremely successful year, real estate litigation partner Phil Hind has progressed from ‘Associate to Watch’ to ‘Up and Coming’ status. Chambers UK reported he has particular expertise in landlord and tenant disputes and has experience in disputes relating to residential sales and purchases, dilapidation claims and leasing issues. One respondent added:  "Phil has an ability to understand and grasp the key issues early on and explain his advice clearly."

Alison Taylor, real estate partner and practice group leader has been ranked for the first time. Chambers UK said: “She enjoys a strong reputation for her work with clients in the environmental, retail and leisure sectors,” with feedback including, "she has strong negotiating and drafting skills," and that "Alison is a calm, experienced and commercially savvy transactional lawyer who's always fantastic to work with."

Band 1 rankings for individuals

A high number of lawyers from across the firm have retained the highest status awarded by Chambers UK. Craig Williams in litigation and environment, Jo Davis in employment, Sue Andrews in family, David Smellie in corporate and commercial and Alex Zachary in environment, all achieved a ‘Band 1’. Alex Zachary has also increased his ranking after being recognised for his work in corporate and commercial over the past 12 months. One client reported that: "Alex is an excellent lawyer and critical support for our business and myself. He's responsive and diligent while being pragmatic in understanding commercial risk and business opportunity."

Retained rankings

Other lawyers who have continued to maintain their ranking in the top two tiers are Matthew Brandis, head of dispute resolution and Simon Deans, senior and corporate and commercial partner. Maria Mowberryproperty partner, has retained her ‘Up and Coming,’ status and  property associate, Emily Halley is regarded as an ‘Associate to Watch.’
