Having joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2013, throughout his training with B P Collins LLP, Thomas has developed a broad range of skills in order to handle clients’ personal affairs comprehensibly, efficiently and empathetically. He is keen to advise clients on issues regarding mental capacity, including the preparation of Powers of Attorney, both for individuals and businesses, and applications to the Court of Protection for Deputyship Orders.
Thomas is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
Thomas’ experience includes writing wills for high net worth individuals, advising them on estate planning issues so to try to minimise the effect of inheritance tax on their estates following death, advising in relation to the creation and administration of trusts and how to provide for future generations of clients’ families. Thomas has also dealt with the administration of a number of high value estates for the purposes of obtaining probate and distributing assets in accordance with the deceased’s will, if one exists, and also dealing with complex intestate estates.
Thomas grew up in South Bucks and lives in Maidenhead with his wife and Black Labrador, Bertie. When not in the office or teaching Bertie a new trick, Thomas enjoys partaking in runs for charity and watching any sport.
