Universal Wealth Preservation (‘UWP’) was an unregulated company that set up trusts and wills, quite often appointing themselves as executors and trustees. It also made several dubious claims including that the trusts could avoid tax and care home fees.

There were a lot of upsetting stories about UWP over the past year with the media reporting how people were unable to get hold of them after handing over their properties, life savings and other assets and the distress they felt after failing to regain control. It has now come to light that UWP has gone under, which must be alarming for its former clients.
