James is a senior associate in B P Collins’ family team.
Experience
James has broad experience across family law, including divorce, financial settlements, and arrangements for children. He advises clients through all stages of proceedings, from initial separation to final resolution, whether by agreement or through the court process.
He is a member of family lawyers’ group Resolution and is committed to resolving disputes constructively and with minimal conflict wherever possible.
Specialisms
While he enjoys the variety of work in family law, James has developed particular expertise in complex children cases, including those involving child protection concerns and local authority involvement, injunctive proceedings and allegations of domestic abuse.
In 2023 he acted successfully for the mother in a case reported in legal journals involving extensive allegations made by the mother and father against each other.
James is ranked as ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by Legal 500, an independent directory of the best lawyers in the UK.
Outside the Office
James grew up playing a wide range of sports and continues to play golf regularly. He has a strong interest is literature and has performed in various amateur dramatics productions.
