Emma is a Partner in the Family Law team.  She has a broad range of experience and specialises in all aspects of family law including divorce and separation, finances, arrangements for children and advising on the breakdown of cohabitating relationships.  Emma is also experienced in preparing pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and separation agreements.

Experience

Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2010.  Her training, which focused on family law, was at a firm in West London.  Over 10 years ago, Emma began working in the Thames Valley and has worked at a regional heavyweight firm and also at a Top Tier, Top 100 firm in Oxford for 4 years prior to moving to BP Collins.   She has worked with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds including in the film industry, the arts, the medical profession,  the motor industry and in academia.  She is meticulous in her approach and works hard for clients to help them achieve the best possible outcome.  She thinks strategically, pragmatically and constructively.

Emma is a member of Resolution and is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in complex financial remedies and private law children matters.   Emma has also completed her mediation training.

Specialisms

Emma is known for her empathetic approach with clients, which has seen her support and advise vulnerable clients through challenging cases, particularly those relating to children.

Emma has completed her Mental Health First Aider training through Mental Health First Aid England which has assisted Emma in her awareness of the impact that a divorce and separation can have on an individual’s mental health.

Emma sits on the committee of the Resolution National Wellbeing committee and on the committee of Resolution Oxfordshire.

Outside of the office

Emma enjoys travel, a gritty thriller novel, good food and wine.  She is a staunch animal lover and loves nothing more than taking long walks in the countryside with her cocker spaniel, Jess, and her husband. As a football fan, Emma also enjoys the frustration of fantasy premier league.
