Being up to date with policies, procedures and handbooks is critical in a fast changing HR and employment law environment.

What is a HR health check?

Our team of HR consultants offer clients a full HR health check in the form of a review of all your HR policies and handbooks. The team also discusses them in line with other processes such as recruitment, performance management, absence, compensation, benefits and culture.

Within these areas the team delves into detail on areas including but not limited to:

  • Job descriptions
  • Recruitment methods
  • Record keeping
  • Diversity of talent
  • Values
  • Wellbeing
  • Mental health
  • CSR
  • Flexible working
  • Benefits
  • Maternity, paternity and adoption leave and pay
  • Menopause
  • Holiday
  • Redundancy
  • Joiners and leavers
  • Training
  • Benchmarking
  • Equal opportunities
  • Anti-bullying and harassment
  • Anti-bribery

The HR health check is conducted over one or two days depending on the number of employees and content covered. With a two day engagement, one day is always carried out on site with the second as either on site or remote based on what has been covered in day one. Our team produces a full report of their findings and provide recommendations to take forward.

Our HR consultants can carry out employee engagement exercises as part of the HR health check as an add on option where clients want to look beyond their policies and handbooks. Many clients take this option to obtain a comprehensive view which can be used to inform their HR strategy going forward.
