On Saturday 4 May, a team of 15 staff will tackle 25 obstacles across the infamous 10 mile Tough Mudder course in Henley-on-Thames, in aid of Pancreactic Cancer Action.

The team are running the course to remember two colleagues who both worked for many years in our property team. We sadly lost both Jane Tyllyer and former senior partner Ian Johnson to pancreatic cancer.  We are also running in memory of other family and friends of the firm.

BD and marketing director, and member of the Tough Mudder team, Gina Connell spoke of her anticipation ahead of raceday:

“As a member of the team I can certainly say I'm feeling a little nervous, but it's an incredibly important cause for me and everyone at B P Collins. Having lost some of our colleagues to pancreatic cancer, we really appreciate all that Pancreatic Cancer Action do and we know that this will help us through the challenges ahead of us on the day”.

Pancreatic cancer is the UK’s 5th biggest cancer killer. The survival rate is under 7% which is the lowest of any cancer.

Pancreatic Cancer Action is committed to working towards earlier diagnosis of the disease so that surgery, currently the only cure, is made available to the sufferer.  The charity fund research into early diagnosis, provide medical education programmes, and launch national awareness campaigns.

Ali Stunt, Founder and CEO of Pancreatic Cancer Action says, “We want to thank the amazing team at B P Collins for their dedication to raising awareness and funds for this awful disease that takes so many lives. We wish you the best of luck on the day and have no doubt you will all be fantastic!”

We really appreciate every donation, no matter how small. If you would like to donate to the cause, please visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/b-p-collins-llp
