Family expert

Sarah specialises in all areas of family law.  She advises clients in relation to divorce and related financial issues and has a burgeoning practice advising clients on property disputes involving cohabiting couples, financial claims for children (pursuant to Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989) and intervenor claims. Sarah also regularly advises clients in relation to child arrangement disputes, often involving complex issues and/or allegations.Sarah was shortlisted for the Legal Executive of the year award in the Jordans Family Law Awards in 2013.

Experience

Sarah has practised family law since 2006 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive lawyer in 2010.  She trained at a top tier legal 500 firm in her native Newcastle upon Tyne and commenced employment for B P Collins in September 2015 following her move to London. Sarah continues to have a strong links with the North East and acts for clients throughout the UK from Newcastle upon Tyne to the South Coast. She deals with cases at all levels, from the Magistrates Court to the High Court.  She dealt with the reported case of R-v-R [2012] EWHC 2390 (fam).

Outside the office

In her spare time, Sarah sits as the Chair for the CILEx London branch.  This is a network of lawyers at various stages of their studies/careers. As part of this role, Sarah regularly gives talks to local schools, colleges and universities about the benefits of a career in law. Outside of work Sarah enjoys visiting historical places in London and attending pub quizzes.
