B P Collins’ criminal team, instructing Jane Bickerstaff, KC, of 9 Bedford Row Chambers, has won a significant victory for his client in the Court of Appeal.

The client was sentenced in September earlier this year. The matter appeared back in court, before Lady Justice Macur, Mr Justice Griffiths and Mr Justice Johnson, following an appeal from the Solicitor General, on the grounds that the sentence was unduly lenient.

We are delighted to report that the Court was minded to accept submissions on behalf of our client and found that the sentencing judge, HHJ Tulk, had been correct in her approach; dismissing the Solicitor General’s submissions that punishment had been too lenient and confirming that our client had been correctly sentenced.
