The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) held its inaugural Business Awards gala on 27 June at The Hilton Hotel Reading, celebrating the region's top business talent.

The event was hosted by Olympian Mark Foster who, with eight world records under his belt, is one of Britain’s most successful swimmers. During the evening, Mark spoke about his proudest moments as an athlete – and entertained the audience with stories about his memorable time on Strictly Come Dancing.

With 11 categories showcasing the most talented and innovative companies, B P Collins was proud to show its support for the Thames Valley region by sponsoring the Commitment to People Development category.

Jacqui Symons, HR manager, was on the judging panel and explains why staff development is so important:

“In 2018, training and developing your staff is more important than ever before to help retain top talent. At B P Collins, we believe it is crucial to create a culture that enables employees to grow personally and professionally within the organisation, which is why we were extremely proud to celebrate businesses in the region that are committed to their employees.

“A huge congratulations to the winners of the category, Vail Williams, for demonstrating their commitment to making employees feel trusted and valued, and encouraging them to be the best they can be.”
