Rajiv joined B P Collins in April 2012 and qualified as a solicitor in the firm’s dispute resolution team in September 2015 after having completed his training contract with the firm. In May 2018, Rajiv was promoted to associate solicitor. His principal practice area is commercial litigation, working with a broad spectrum of clients from individuals to multi-million pound businesses with the objective of giving robust and plain-English legal advice tailored to each client’s objectives.

Rajiv is a member of the firm’s specialist Brexit team; comprised of solicitors across each of the firm’s practice groups with the objective of helping our clients manage the challenges and uncertainties associated with Brexit. He published an article in Business Voice (a quarterly magazine by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce) commenting on the possible effects of Brexit on commercial contracts and what businesses can do to help Brexit-proof their cross-border arrangements.

Rajiv has advised regional and city-based clients across industries including logistics, waste management, manufacturing and media. His experience covers a wide range of pre-action, County Court and High Court litigation involving consumer protection issues, shareholder and director disputes, consumer and commercial debt recovery and contract disputes, including litigation arising out of hire purchase agreements

One of Rajiv’s highlights was as part of the team advising a well-known waste management business in successfully defending a £3million claim during a High Court trial. This led to a reported decision that set legal precedent in respect of accepting a Part 36 settlement offer during trial.

A keen badminton player, Rajiv also dabbles in yoga and has recently taken up spinning. Rajiv enjoys an eclectic taste in both cinema and music and always makes time for watching sport. He travels wherever and whenever possible, and a particular highlight was climbing Mount Fuji in Japan.
