Adrian is a non-executive chairman at B P Collins and works alongside the board on leadership, strategy and performance. He is also managing director of Lane4 Performance, the business he set up after retiring from competitive swimming.
As a swimmer, Adrian was continuously driven to become Olympic Champion and sustain his world number one ranking. When he retired from competitive sport his first job was Head of Talent Development for British Swimming. The experience compounded his view that performance should be considered in its broadest sense. It’s not just about working harder or swimming faster, it requires a combination of inputs.
Adrian uses his experience and expertise to work with the B P Collins board on key components for success:
Adrian won an Olympic gold medal in the 100m breaststroke at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. He sustained World No. 1 ranking for six consecutive years and was awarded an MBE for his services to swimming in 1987. In business he is listed in The Top 30 Most Influential HR Thinkers in the UK (2010 and 2011) and Best Leader in The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For (2007 and 2009).
