Claire uses her extensive experience to advise clients across a broad range of family matters which include relationship breakdown involving divorce, the dissolution of civil partnerships and child-centred disputes revolving around disputed arrangements for children, as well as relocation overseas.  Claire also prepares both pre and post nuptial agreements.  She specialises in cases involving complex business assets and trusts having had experience advising private clients and trustees at the beginning of her career, as part of which she completed the STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Diploma to complement her family work.

Claire Filer became a partner of the firm in May 2017.  Prior to working at B P Collins, Claire gained valuable experience building her practice working for high net worth individuals having trained at international law firm Taylor Wessing, where she qualified in 2004, working in the London office, before moving to Mishcon de Reya in 2009.  Keen to return to her roots, having grown up in Buckinghamshire, Claire joined the family team at B P Collins in March 2013.

Outside the office

Claire lives in Buckinghamshire and acts for a broad spectrum of clients living locally, in Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross, in London and further afield. She is a governor at a local primary school and spends most of her time outside of work standing on the side-lines of chilly rugby or football pitches supporting her young boys and co-ordinating their busy social lives.
